Driver’s licence
Renters must be in possession of a valid unendorsed
driver’s licence. The minimum age for rental is 23 years
when payment by Avis accepted credit card, Visa or
Mastercard and 21 years when payment is by Diners or
Amex card or 25 when payment is by cash. Driver’s
licence must have been valid for a minimum period of 5
years. It is a legal requirement in R.S.A. to be in
possession of your original driver’s licence at all
times whilst driving a vehicle.
Weekend rentals
Payment of Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Loss Waiver
covers 80% of the total responsibility on weekend
rentals. No additional drivers will be permitted on
weekend rentals countrywide.
Please Note:
A
minimum authorisation amount of R5000 is required for
all weekend rentals taking place in the Northern
Provinces, Gauteng and Free State (INLAND) and R2500 is
required for all weekend rentals taking place in Kwazulu
Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape (COASTAL) and is
only payable by credit card.
Additional Drivers
All
drivers must be listed on the applicable rental
agreement. There is a charge for additional drivers. If
an unlisted driver is involved in an accident, or theft
of the vehicle, the renter will be liable for full
damage/ replacement costs.
Petrol
This
is not included in our rates. Cars are delivered full
and the customer is charged for full refill upon
termination of rental. Fuel consumption is gauged from
customer service centre to customer service centre.
Rental Contract Fee
A rental contract fee is applicable to all rentals.
There is a legal requirement to store documents for a
period of 5 years. The fee is for the cost for the
administering, storing and retrieving all rental
contracts.
